Burnt Spruce
A deep, rich black color inspired by the traditional Shou Sugi Ban charred wood finish. It highlights the natural texture of the wood, while the charring process itself gives the surface a subtle roughness, maintaining visual uniformity.
Medeksa Black stands out for its subtle aesthetics and is often chosen for creating contrasting designs, especially when paired with warmer tones such as Medeksa Sand or Medeksa Ember. It is perfect for facades, terraces, and interiors where clean lines and clear forms are important.

Wood species
Scandinavian Spruce (AB)
Surface treatment
Wood charring (Shou Sugi Ban technique), mechanical char brushing
Finishing
Coated twice with water-based wood oil, color: Medeksa Black
The wood-brushing process subtly highlights the natural texture of the wood, but in dark shades, such as Medeksa Black, this effect is more subdued. At the same time, such surfaces typically require less frequent maintenance compared to light, double-brushed colors (e.g., Medeksa Sand).
Due to lighting conditions during photography and display settings, the shade shown in the photos may differ from the actual product.
This document presents standard charred wood profiles and their key dimensions - thickness, width, coverage width, and available lengths. If you require non-standard dimensions or profiles, please get in touch.
Gradual colour change over time is a natural process, not a defect.

The deepest shade in our palette is also the easiest to combine. Many of our most striking projects pair Medeksa Black with a second, warmer or lighter shade – on an accent wall, a fence or window surrounds.
KEEP THE COLOR
The same water-based oil we apply twice in production. Re-oiling with it keeps the original depth of color – decking every 1-3 years, facades every 5-7 years.
